In the IRD last tax update, they have explained that sometimes taxpayer will be sent statements of accounts showing the tax to be paid as due or overdue although the taxpayer uses tax pooling service.The reason for this is because the timing for the transfer from tax pooling to the IRD depends on a number of factors and it is not easy for the IRD to identify the taxpayers paying tax through tax pooling intermediary.
Thus, the taxpayer should let the IRD know when they meet their tax obligation through a tax pooling service in order to make sure that the IRD does not take proactive recovery action relating to overdue tax.
