There are three minimum wage rates: from 01-04-2023

• The adult minimum wage applies to all employees aged 16 and over who are not new entrants or trainees. From 01-04-2023 it is $21.70
• The new entrants or starting - out minimum wage applies to employees aged 16 and 17, except for those who have completed 200 hours or 3 months of employment in the workforce. Currently this is at $18.16
• Training minimum wage rate applies only to employees aged 16 and over who are doing recognised industry training involving at least 60 credits a year. This Is also at $18.16 per hour.
