Will I lose my non-resident status if I invest in New Zealand?

Once you are a non-resident you can not loose just by investing in New Zelanad. You will be a non-resident for investment purposes and your tax will be paid only on your New Zealand sourced income NOT on your worldwide income.

 

If in any 12 months period you spend 183 days or more you will be a New Zealand tax resident for that income year.
