Volunteers and Honoraria 

What is the proposed change?

• Provide not-for-profits with the option to treat honoraria as salaries or wages, rather than schedular payments for tax purposes.

• Proposal would apply from 1 April 2028

Why is this change needed?

• Honoraria treated as schedular payments can be confusing for volunteers and creates needless compliance costs.
